Many service members rely on certain phrases in order to communicate and emphasize complex or common concepts. This is as true for airman Snuffy as it is in any other branch of the armed forces. Some see these buzzwords as valuable tools in efficiency. Others see them as an opportunity to chuckle.
Unofficial Rules for AF Buzzword Bingo:
Each player starts by filling out a bingo card (Form J043) using the rules stated below. Over the course of a week, each player needs to keep good situational awareness and pay attention to their peers, in order to fill in their cards. Accountability is important, so make sure you document on the card where you heard/read/were touched by each phrase. It is important to keep the contents of each Form J043 private. This is a team building exercise so players are not allowed to document themselves for any of the words on their own card.
When players complete five in a row, they are out of the game (Five and Dive). The first player out chooses Friday’s first round of shots (on second place’s dime). Second place wins a free beer. Third place is awarded the honor of being the designated driver. Fourth place can use it as an OPR bullet. Feel free to use different prizes, if preferred, but remember to use the wingman concept at all times.
Buzzword Bingo Cards
Each player picks twenty four of the following phrases randomly from a hat and uses them to fill a Form J043 from left to right, one row at a time. Feel free to add your own phrases to use in the comment boxes below, but play fair: No picking everyday words like “The”, or “And”, or “Air Superiority”. Remember, the center box is a free space unless you’re the FNG. Then you have to earn it.
